Lauren, thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for taking the time to write this. Thank you for taking your time to post on Social media. But mostly, thank you for helping me realize that I am not alone. It has been 18 years since I was in the midst of the extreme trauma, but so much of it has stayed with me. I've gone to counseling and I do credit that with saving me at the time. I turn to my faith now, but some of the trauma escapes and boldly reminds me. I look forward to working through more of the trauma and clearing my mind to absorb more of the beauty of what life has to offer.
Thank you, again - you are so very appreciated!
"I've Never Seen Myself So Clearly"

Hi Lauren,
Reading your email, I realized I tend to freeze when it comes to myself — self-care, rest, even basic needs. But when it comes to survival, work, or responsibilities, I switch into fight mode. I keep pushing, even when I'm exhausted or sick, because I'm afraid of running out of money or losing control.
It feels like I live between "numb" and "hyper-alert."
Thank you for putting this into words — I've never seen myself so clearly in a description before.
Warmly.
